Hartford, Conn., July 31, 2026 – Talcott Financial Group, (“Talcott”), an international insurance group providing comprehensive risk solutions for customers across the retirement and insurance industry, announced that Moody’s Ratings (“Moody’s”) has recently upgraded the Insurance Financial Strength (IFS) ratings of Talcott Resolution Life Insurance Company and Talcott Resolution Life and Annuity Insurance Company to ‘A3’ from ‘Baa1’. Additionally, Moody’s also upgraded the issuer rating of Talcott Financial Group, Ltd., from ‘Baa3’ to ‘Ba1’.
Moody’s financial strength ratings are renowned standards that measure financial and insurance institutions’ ability to meet obligations to clients and policyholders. This upgrade reflects the strength of Talcott’s capital position and the capabilities of its business model, including its open architecture investment management platform, high-quality diversified asset portfolio, and the ability to provide reinsurance solutions to the industry at scale, along with the successful roll out of its retail platform this year.
In explaining their rationale, Moody’s noted that they expect Talcott to continue to execute on its growth strategy, improving its market position and distribution over time, while maintaining a good mix of products and geographical spread.
“We are proud to be recognized by Moody’s with financial strength ratings upgrades, which underscore the stability of the platform we’ve built and the confidence we’ve earned as we expand our role in the global insurance market,” said Imran Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of Talcott Financial Group. “This upgrade reflects the consistency, expertise, and collaborative mindset our team brings to serving customers and clients while creating long-term value.”
